How the Sun Got to Coco's House is a light hearted book explaining the process the sun goes through each day. This book show each place, animal, and person the sun interacts with before reaching Coco's house. In all honesty there really is not a moral or message, but that does not mean the book is bad. The strongest aspect of the book is the illustrations, and the way it plays with color. Throughout the book the colors are muted grays and blues, except for the yellow from the sun. This draws the readers eyes to where the sun is, and what it is lighting up. How the Sun Got to Coco's House is a fun story, one that is greatly aided by the use of color. ( ) This is a cute story of how the sun rises everyday and brings light to different places at different times. We see this from the text on the first page saying "While Coco slept far away, the sun crept up slowly behind a hill". This tells us that while it was dark and night time at Coco's house the sun was shining in other places around the world. This could be read in both Reading class and science when talking about the sun. When the sun finally makes it to coco's house coco is ready to play. This is the story of the journey of the sun to Coco's house. The sun rises across the water, through the forests, from the countryside to the city where Coco's house is. These are the first precious moments captured of the sun when as it comes up. Coco wakes from her sleep by the sun and plays the day away. This is a beautiful story of how each day is a new day! Bob Graham does a wonderful job in making something so simple and real, alive. He begins the book by explaining that the sun had to start from somewhere, so where? The book shows how the sun travelled through various parts of the world until it reaches Coco's room. Whether it was lighting the way for a fishing boat, catching the eye of a great whale, "making shadows on the snow and in Jung Su's footsteps”, it was a real joy. Finally, when it gets to Coco’s room, we see how the sun is there on all parts of his house. Highly recommended book for young readers! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
