Summary: Franklin has many lifelong friends, he does not ever remember meeting a new friend. When Moose and his family move into the neighborhood, Franklin is fearful of Moose because of his large size. Franklin is buddied up with him at school and soon he forgets he was ever afraid of him!

Review: I would use this book to introduce the idea of having a new kid in our class. I like how it shows the perspective of both Franklin and Moose. This book is a good starter for a discussion on how we can talk to a new student to find anything we might have in common and how to make new students feel welcome. ( )

I picked this book because I love Franklin books and this books looked like it would have a good message to it. For this book, I would have students write about what they would do to be nice to a new friend. ( )
