I hated the show Sabrina the Teenage witch, I thought it was boring. This was not boring. This was creepy as heck and I am HERE for it. I loved the twisted Sabrina universe. I plan on reading the rest of the series as soon as it is finished. I would love to see how Sabrina turned out since her father is basically a devil worshiper as is her aunts. Artwork is slightly gritty as well as black and white. It adds to the creep factor. I only sort of knew that this comic was a thing before the Netflix show came out, but, having watched that now, I wanted to come back to the source material. I wasn't a huge fan of the art, but that's more personal taste. It actually suits the material quiet well. There was a lot to like here: -The events surrounding Sabrina's birth and what happened to her parents differs from the show, but there's actually more revealed here, and it puts Edward in a more sinister light, which is cool. -The setting is very blatantly 60s, which was also appreciated. The Netflix series seemed like it was only half going for that, until cell phones randomly appeared toward the end of the first season (I think). -I liked the reference to The Monkey's Paw. It's a story I cover with my 8th grade students, and they get SO into it. It's a classic "be careful what you wish for" tale, and suits the story of this comic quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing where this comic goes. I've heard the show follows it pretty closely, but the differences so far have me favoring the comic story line, which I'm glad for. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
