I enjoyed reading the French fairy tales in the first half of the book. The morals were sometimes hard to understand. The second half of the book was written entirely in verse and was sometimes very difficult to follow. This book is not written in modern French. It uses old words and an unusual pattern of capital letters. Parts of the book are written in the passé simple.
