The book covers the training at Fort Riley, Kansas, Camp Ibis in the Mojave Desert & Camp Polk, Louisiana. The shipping of the entire division overseas on the historic ship, QUEEN MARY. A short period at Tidworth Barracks before crossing the English Channel into France. The triumphal march across France into Luxembourg & the part the division played in the Ardennes offensive. The story of the capture of the Remagen Bridge covered in news stories by a young staff writer of THE STARS & STRIPES, Andy Rooney. The part the 9th Armored Division played in the defeat of the Nazis & then in the occupation of Germany. The story carries through to the final trip home & discharge less than a week after arrival in the states. This book is supported by pictures, mostly taken by the author, & news clippings at the time from various newspapers.
