There’s only one story running through this TPB, Batman trying to find his son’s body as the subtitle indicates, but there were a ton of different characters trying (with differing results) to ‘help’ Batman find Damian after Ra’s steals Damian’s body. It was like a super team up book. First Aquaman, then Wonder Woman, then Frankenstein (that was my favorite of the team ups) try and help Batman catch up with Ra’s. Then it all goes sideways thanks to a visitor from Apokolips and a good portion of the rest of the Justice League trying to help. It also ended on quite a cliffhanger re: Damian’s fate. It was a nice TPB. I didn’t love all the art, but the story and the dialogue definitely made up for it. After losing his son Damian-a.k.a. Robin-Batman has finally found peace with his death. Damian's grandfather Ra's al Ghul, however, has not. In order to resurrect Robin, he's stolen the body and now Batman-Robin's father-will stop at nothing to reclaim him. Even if that means that the Dark Knight must hunt down Ra's al Ghul from Paradise Island to Nanda Parbat. While traversing his way thru some of the most dangerous and exotic locations in the DC Universe Batman meets up with his fellow teammates in the Justice League and even the noble monster Frankenstein! But do they come as friends or foes? And who will win once the forces of Darkseid decide to take an interest in the future of Damian Wayne? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

Wow, this is intense! There is real emotional depth throughout the entire story, making this a worthy effort.
After Damien Wayne (Robin) was killed, Bruce Wayne struggles to come to terms with his death, including an attempt to resurrect him using Frankenstein. When that failed, he began to move on. Bruce then discovers that the bodies of both Talia al Ghul and Damien have been stolen by Ra's al Ghul. What follows is Batman's attempt to recover Damien's body before Ra's can resurrect them to lead the League of Assassins. With assists from Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Frankenstein, and eventually from the entire Justice League, Batman chases Ra's around the globe. Batman also reconciles with Red Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl, making a decision that could result in long-term ramifications. This volume ended on a cliffhanger, of course, but it provides a strong foundation for a long story arc.
The artwork was okay, not the best, but it didn’t detract from the storyline. It just didn’t appeal to me this time.
This volume is highly recommended for Batman fans. It isn't the best place for new readers to begin, but the background needed to understand what is happening is provided throughout the book. ( )
