This book is written to give parents and teachers a template for children to create a journal. The template is the happenings and facts surrounding storied in the Magic Treehouse series. The activity is for the children to create their own journal in a similar way to one that Jack and Annie make. The children's journals will have facts and places about their own lives
. The effort should aid in teaching creative writing.

Each page has an example on the left with jack and Annie's world, the right-hand page has an empty page or form for the children to put their own things and history and activities on.

The idea and the way it is presented look very good and easily followed by children. It looks fun.
After two pages of explanation with an example, there are about fifty template pages for children to do themselves.
