(easy,picture) This must be installment two of the noisy book series. Muffin, the dog, is heading to the beach this time so there is a whole new host of sounds and the same interactive oppurtunities with children presented in the other noisy books. The difference that I liked with this noisy book is that it also presented things that Muffin became aware of that he couldn't hear such as fish swimming in the sea or a jellyfish lying in the sand. This book describes all the diffent sounds, sights, and smells that one might hear when out at sea. It would probably be most appropriate for Kindergarten. The book would be great is the class was learning the 5 senses or talking about the sea. www.margaretwisebrown.com ( )

This story follows Muffin, the dog, as he experiences sounds of the sea. As he travels he learns different sounds of the sea. Muffin hears everything but has to try not to let his imagniation get to him.

Muffin is a dog that can hear everything. He goes on his first beach to the ocean and is wondering if he can hear the sea. He hears every little thing like boats, fish, and birds. It isn't until all the noises stop that he hears the sea. Then the next day he goes fishing with the captain of the boat. He gets in and swims. The captain catches him and calls him a dogfish. ( )

This book is not my favorite book. It is about all the things and noises you can hear on the seashore. You could predict what you would see and hear on a seashore before you read the book. I would say this book is for a k-1st grader. I think if you read it with all the funny noisesthe children would enjoy it. ( )
