Even tho its Kindle Unlimited so I got it free, I purchased the whole series in Kindle and audio. ( ) Still the same feeling that i was getting with Nice Dragons Finish Last, in that the pacing is still annoying me a bit. I think it's totally to do with there being so much going on in these books with so many great characters that sometimes the story takes one away from something that one really doesn't want to be taken away from, leaving one chomping at the bit to get back to that one character's story line, thus giving the impression that everything's suddenly going slow and plodding along when it actually isn't. And then, when you find youself back at that one character's story line you've been aching to get to, you'll more than likely find that you're now chomping at the bit to get back to another character's story. But -- guess what -- you keep-on-reading-and-a-reading because these books are really, really good with plenty of really, really great characters. Which, you guessed it, left me chomping at the bit to get started on No Good Dragon Goes Unpunished. Book 2 (of 5) is WOW. A lot happens in this installment. Like, a LOT, leading up to the eye-popping END which isn't, of course, because three more books, but WOW. If you're looking for a finished series with fantastic worldbuilding and great characters, try this one. I am IMPRESSED. Sorry-not sorry for all the caps I CAN'T HELP IT. Aaron, Rachel. One Good Dragon Deserves Another. Heartstrikers No. 2. Aaron/Bach, 2015. One Good Dragon is a close sequel to Rachel Aaron’s Nice Dragons Finish Last. Julius is still sealed in human form and banished to the Detroit Free Zone with Marci, a human mage, who most dragons assume is Julius’s slave. Julius’s mom, a mother who is not above sending an assassin after her son, makes a deal with a rival dragon clan to force Julius to find and bind one of their runaway daughters. In the process, Julius and his cohorts find themselves on the outs with Algonquin, the Lady of the Lakes (Great Lakes, that is), who conjures a spirit known as Death of Dragons to take care of them. Dragon clan politics makes the Sopranos seem as tame as Downton Abbey, but somehow Julius and Marci rise to the occasion. 4 stars. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
