This book is based upon the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Lewis and Clark Expedition took place in 1804 after the Louisiana Purchase. It was a group of people set out to map the terrain of the louisiana territory. They set out with 59 people and a dog by the time they got their they had 33 people and a dog. Their journey was a treacherous one but little did they know that they helped shape our future. Their journey home was split so they increased their chance of at least some people returning. Surprisingly only one person died the rest either got separated from the rest or gave up.

The Lewis and Clark Expedition was an expedition that changed history as we know it. This book was very educational and it teaches you a few things about american history. I recommend for ages nine and up to read this. History is one of my favorite genres to read and this really taught me some things. I liked this book it was a fun thing to keep me entertained. I gave this book a four star because it's is a fun book to read but I feel like the book could use a little more excitement. Other than that this was a fascinating book. ( )

The message of this book is that book is that history is an important aspect of life and it is important to be knowledgeable about the past.
I found this book to be informative while also being interesting. I enjoyed the way that the information was presented, in a narrative story. I believe that this formative was the best choice when it came to presenting the events of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Because the information was presented in a narrative story, I believe that it makes it much more appealing to young readers, getting them more involved in the story.
I also enjoyed the illustrations that are presented throughout the story. It helps the reader better understand what is happening during the story’s events. Since the events took place in the 1800’s it is difficult for a young reader to be able to relate to that time frame, so the illustrations are very helpful for them. The illustrations, although very rough, most likely drawn with pen or pencil, help show the journey, the animals, the different people that Lew and Clark interacted with. It also showed their locations on maps, allowing for the reader to better understand the length of their journey. ( )

What was the Lewis and Clark Expedition is an insightful book about two explorers named Lewis and Clark. They were co-captains of a group called the Corps of Discovery. I like this book because it lists more than facts, it lists experiences that the explorers had. I admire Lewis and Clark's determination to travel to the Pacific Ocean. They faced many obstacles like Native Americans and the Rocky Mountains but they kept on going forward. The book also contains real pictures of their belongings and illustrations of their adventures! I highly recommend this book for people who like historical biographies. ( )
