Nice to revisit characters one became so involved with ... in Sweet Filthy Boy. Jason Carpenter did a great job of giving the narration a French lilt. I tried Nothing More by Anna Todd, also read by Jason, where he reads in his regular voice. In that book his reading is so flat that it is almost ( ) I really love the authors' (two women writing under one pseudonym) Beautiful Bastard series; and while the Wild Seasons isn't nearly as good, it's still pretty good. A couple of weeks ago, I read 'Sweet Filthy Boy' which is about a couple who got married in Vegas during an alcohol-fueled evening. Instead of getting the marriage annulled, they try to make the marriage work. What was really interesting about the novel itself was that the authors did not go with their usual format of alternating chapters between the male and female POVs. In 'Sweet Filthy Boy' the POV was all from the girl's point-of-view. In this audio exclusive, listeners get what seems to be a chapter from the guy's point-of-view. If this is a sample of what may have been cut, I really wish it had been originally included with 'Sweet Filthy Boy' and expanded upon. It was detailed, and introspective (And no, there wasn't anything sexually explicit in the material.) The audiobook narrator affects a French accent; and the whole thing was well-produced. Be aware though, that this isn't even really a novella. It's a short story at best, but best described as a long, excised chapter from the novel. Sweet Filthy Morning After by Christina Lauren #1.5 Wild Seasons Audio narrated by Jason Carpenter I borrowed the audio version from the library thinking it was a full-sized novel. This is actually only a little over 30 minutes of audio and is Ansel's viewpoint of the morning after an important night with Mia from the book [book:Sweet Filthy Boy|18775297]. Apparently these two, as well as some of their friends, had a wild night in Vegas and woke up married. The next morning, Ansel wakes up with a pounding head and slowly starts to realize and remember where he is and what happened the night before. Unlike his friends, whom he talks to later that morning, he is not in a rush to annul the wedding. I knew nothing about this before starting it and was caught up immediately by Ansel's thoughts about how enamored he is/was with Mia. The night before was relived in bits and pieces in flashbacks as he recovered his memory. There was also mention of a sealed envelope she had given him the night before which he had not yet opened. Gah! Now I have to search out the full story! Excellent story. I already like these characters and I haven't even really been introduced to them yet. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
