This book is most appropriate for middle school students but it could be used for elementary school students too. The writing style is highly intelligible despite dealing with complex subject matter. The book is chronologically organized by months and covers the Continental Army’s time at Valley Forge. It describes the condition that the soldiers lived under and their transformation to a trained and organized force. I would use this book as an introduction to a lesson on The Revolutionary War. ( )

This is a good informational book for upper elem school. The illustrations are very well done.
