This book is a page turner that a classic like RL Stine always manages to write. It would be good for late elementary school learners. It follows two kids visiting a studio theme park where they become excited to visit a spooky ride. The ride turns out to be too much for them to handle and seems to real. But is it? This book keeps kids brains thinking and excited to read. Its a mystery novel which keeps kids wanting to find out more. ( )

#35 "It's a real dead end."
Erin and Marty are big horror movie buffs. They love the Shocker on Shock Street films. So when they get the opportunity to visit the Shocker Studio Theme Park they jump at the chance. It's everything they hoped it would be. Just like in the movies. But it's all completely fake rig right? Very much like one day at HorrorLand with giant monsters. ( )

I always thought this one was super creepy. Maybe this is why I hate praying mantises to this day.

This could quite possibly take the crown as the worst Goosebumps title of all time. Then again, [b: The Legend of the Lost Legend|460496|Legend of the Lost Legend (Goosebumps, #47)|R.L. Stine|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1387734622s/460496.jpg|2811873] exists, so it's a close race. Nevertheless, there will likely never be a time when I don't groan while reading the title [b: A Shocker on Shock Street|125615|A Shocker on Shock Street (Goosebumps, #35)|R.L. I was reluctant to read this one based on the title alone. That and I was still reeling from how terrible [b: Why I'm Afraid of Bees|125583|Why I'm Afraid of Bees (Goosebumps, #17)|R.L. Stine|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328866712s/125583.jpg|120948] still remains. Needless to say, as my rating shows, I was pleasantly surprised by the contents of this book. I'm a sucker for old horror films, and the mixture of that, old Hollywood magic, animatronics, and amusement park rides had me hooked from the start. Where [b: Welcome to Horrorland|6437114|Welcome to HorrorLand A Survival Guide (Goosebumps Horrorland)|R.L. Stine|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328867796s/125615.jpg|120980] delivered in spades the delicious creepiness and off-balanced wonder that I want from these cute books.

The scares were amply disturbing, and the danger felt more real than it ever did in [b: Welcome to Horrorland|6437114|Welcome to HorrorLand A Survival Guide (Goosebumps Horrorland)|R.L. Stine|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1328838795s/6437114.jpg|6626718]. There was a fun twist at the end, that while it didn't make total sense, I was willing to let it slide for the way it had been set up from the start. The book was fun, thrilling, and ultimately it set you into the world of Shock Street studios. So, while it's still a children's book it's a fun ride and one of the better ones for sure. ( )
