This book is an okay addition to the Pinkalicious universe of early readers. Some of the ballet terms (e.g., barre, plie) are a little advanced for the youngest readers, but overall the book is appropriately challenging for children in the lower elementary grades. The illustrations are fairly basic but can be a little helpful for young readers trying to decipher the text. The thin plot doesn't do much for me; the book just seems to be an amalgamation of things little girls are "supposed" to like (e.g., pink, tutus, ballet) with little by way of story. ( )
