There are many different types of generators which use wave power to make electricity. Researchers around the world are trying to harness the power of the ocean to make electricity. Here in Oregon there is a wave generator testing facility. Several scientists discovered ways of making wave generators in interesting ways. They needed to build small models to test the effectiveness of their creation and then need to test them on the open ocean. Wave power generators are important because they are a form of renewable energy which could help combat global warming. The earth is mostly covered in ocean. We only need to be able to harness its power. Photographs were primarily from the Pacific North West along with collaborations from OSU and Columbia Power Technologies, so this book would feel right at home to any Oregonian. The pictures were nice because they showed the research facility. The diagrams at first reminded me of a chemistry or biology text book diagram in their format, but they are explained in a way the younger reader can understand. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
