Gail Gibbons, takes you on a journey through the history and production of Ice cream with fun and colorful illustrations which would keep any child engaged and asking a question about the world most beloved treat. This book is a great guide for children who are interested in the topic of ice cream. 3-5 Pierce College Library Covers the history of ice cream, the invention of the first hand-cranked ice cream maker (invented by a woman in 1841!), the current method of production, the history of the ice cream cone (St. Louis World's Fair, 1904), and various ice cream treats (sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars, ice cream sodas, ice cream cakes, pie a la mode, etc.). Informative text is mostly along the bottom of each page, with illustrations filling most of the page, with colorful cartoon people who resemble those of Tomie DePaola. There are some labels and extra info in the illustrations where appropriate. Ice Cream: The Full Scoop by Gail Gibbons on ice cream, It tells how the different people around the country came about discovering and making ice cream. The book showed the ice cream makers that the people had invented. The book also explained how Vanilla and Chocolate ice cream were the first two ice creams to be invented. It told how dairy and cream were introduced to make the ice cream better and the who process of the ice creams. New flavors were made and packaged at the factory and sent off to the people.
