Overall, this was a nice, little read about families, relationships and teenage pregnancies. While I liked Amy and felt sorry for her, her naivety did frustrate me. I found it difficult to believe that a modern sixteen year-old girl would not know she was pregnant. However, I did find myself cheering for her and Robbie. There were some good secondary characters in this book including Amy's neighbours Mr and Mrs Kelly, their foster child, Shaun, and Mr Smith, Amy's form teacher, but my favourite was Toffee, the dog that Amy adopted. He brought some light relief to an otherwise fairly serious book. ( )
