"#1 New York Times bestselling author Sidney Sheldon's most popular and enduring heroine--Tracy Whitney of If Tomorrow Comes--returns in a sensational sequel full of passion, suspense, and breathtaking twists. Tracy Whitney never thought she wanted to settle down. With her suave and handsome partner, Jeff Stevens, she'd been responsible for some of the world's most astounding heists, relishing the danger and intensity of life on the wild side. But there is still one thing missing from Tracy's perfect life: a baby. At first 'going straight' feels like a new adventure. But as the months pass and Tracy's longed for pregnancy doesn't happen, she finds herself yearning for the adrenaline rush of the old days. When a mysterious and beautiful stranger enters their lives, Tracy and Jeff's once unbreakable partnership is suddenly blown wide open. Jeff wakes one morning to find Tracy gone, vanished without a trace. For more than a decade, a broken Jeff struggles to carry on knowing Tracy is out there somewhere. But the rest of the world believes Tracy Whitney is dead, until a series of murders leads a tenacious French detective to her doorstep. Eleven victims, in ten different cities, over nine years--all of the cities where Tracy pulled off some of her most brilliant capers. Someone is targeting her, manipulating a series of disturbing events and raising terrifying ghosts she thought were dead and buried. Once again, this clever woman finds herself out on the edge, playing the odds in a desperate game of roulette. But this time, she's got everything to lose--including the man she cannot forget. Tomorrow has come at last. But it isn't the future Tracy bargained for"--… (altro)

Tilly Bagshawe needs to stop writing Sidney Sheldon novels. She doesn't understand his world building, backstory of his characters, and most of all, is horrible and continuing classic Sheldon novels that don't need sequels!

Chasing Tomorrow is a continuation of the world of Tracy Whitney, the heroine from If Tomorrow Comes. In this book she's calmed down from being a master thief, got her man and kid hidden, and pretty much a housewife. Then one thing leads to another and she's back in her old line of work with ghosts from her past waiting to trip her up. From here the book goes to hell. Jeff is a putz in this, a guy that couldn't palm a quarter let alone be a master con artist. Tracy is sooooo much different than Tracy in In Tomorrow Comes, she's a bad liar, bad thief, bad at hiding her kid from Jeff, bad at deciphering setups, bad at life in general. Tilly phoned this entire story home which ends with a crap reunion and no tangible conclusion to what should have been a great return to form for Tracy.

DNF after 179 pages! I should have done this months ago, but I have thought that one day will I be brave enough to finish this book. But seriously, if I do will it not be soon. And I'm doubtful that I will give this book more than 1 star. I love the original book by Sidney Sheldon, but this one is not even worthy of being called a sequel... ( )

All Tracy Whitney wanted was a safe, secure environment to raise her child.

In the past Tracy had an extremely colorful and exciting life. The thrill of the chase, various identities, unimaginable money and power, and the love of Jeff Stevens.
How do you make your past disappear, and try to live a somewhat normal life?

From page one until the very last…non-stop entertainment. Jeff and Tracy will take you on an adventure that you will never forget. I am avoiding spoilers, but I also must say how difficult that is. Tilly Bagshawe has brought a fresh face to Sidney Sheldon in a plot twisting, mind bending extravaganza of a story.

Curl up with this book, and you will lose yourself into another world. Prepare to be amazed. Pure enjoyment!!!
Highly recommended. 5/5 ( )
