This book is super dark, so if you can't handle Murder, Violence, Rough Sex, MFM Menage and the minds of killers... STEP AWAY FROM THIS BOOK NOW! BECAUSE IT HAS IT ALL! So we meet back up with Dimitri and Columbia, but this time they are Hong Kong, they are trying to find stability in their seriously messed up lives, but also Columbia is training with the Concierge...why I hear you ask, is it for more sex games with Dimitri? Is it to kill more of her family members?...well you will just have to read the book to find out ;-) Again this book is great. You should never open a book by Jaden Wilkes without an open mind, because all of societies taboo's will be featured in it, but god, they are great. The first time I read The Beast, I fell in love with the Characters, in Perfectly Normal you get to know more about Dimitri and Columbia and see how they begin to mesh as a couple and how they grow into each others lives. You also get to find out a LOT more about the Concierge, like his name (I ain't telling) and his live before working for Dimitri. Overall, This book is filled with delicious nastiness and stomach clenching violence and I LOVED every minute of it. For that reason I give Perfectly Normal a 10 out of 10. I hope we hear of the three's next adventures very soon. I really really liked and/or loved this novel, right until I started reading the Epilogue. After the first 10% I thought it was hilarious. After the last 10% I thought it was utter utter utter .... (fill in any strong language you deem appropriate. I felt disppointed and slightly suicidal, and then I felt very angry and frustrated and a lot of other horrible things. But I'm over that now. Because I went into therapy. :D Tip for other prospective reader: Do NOT read the Epilogue Don't, under any circumstances whatsoever, read the Epilogue (starting around the 93% mark) of this novel. Ever. As soon as you see the word "Epilogue" - Stop reading, close your book. Just pretend the novel has no ending / ends on a cliffhanger. There's gonna be a sequel of course, but it's not out yet. If you manage to do this (skip the epilogue I mean), you'll have read a 4 to 5 star novel at the end. Because, the writing is good. The story is interesting. Doctor Alexandre Dane is very well written. The psychology of him will leave your head spinning, but it's an experience to be savoured nonetheless. About Alexandre Dane: I have to compliment the author. In general I don't "like" (let alone "love") the meanies, the bad guys. They usually scare the willies out of me and find them intriguing at best. Alexandre Dane I liked. A lot. He was hilarious. I want to take him home and save him. How's that for an experience to be savoured. Here's tip number 2: Forget about the blurb. There's a bit of false advertising going on there, I'm afraid. Mindfuckery: I don't know what that is. But I do know when I've been sold lemons for peaches, and this blurb does it and so does the text. If you're expecting a hot tale between two main characters (Alexandre and the Mistress) you'll be sorely disappointed. I was, but as I said, I'm over that now, I had therapy. If you read this as a psychological drama novel with lots of sexy and disturbing bits, again, you'll end up having read a 4 to 5 star novel. One tip for the author, if I may be so bold, Ms. Wilkes, but I feel strongly about this: Do not, ever again, make a character say to me, the reader, what you, the author, wanted to say and could have said to me in the blurb or an introductory note. There's plenty of space in your book to do your own talking. You don't need Alexandre to do it for you, you don't need to make him say your words. It's cruel and disrespectful. Just leave the poor guy alone and let him speak his own words. Don't abuse him any more than you already did. It's this bit at around the 8% mark I'm talking about: I'll decide all of that for myself, thank you very much. Big-talking and cheating like this isn't going to work. Let your text speak for itself, please. So. A rating. Hmmm. Without the Epilogue: 4 or 5 stars, because I expect the sequel to be outrageously good based on what I just read. With the Epilogue: 1 or maybe 2 stars. Come on, I needed therapy after this! That's not what I'm supposed to get from reading a novel... Tsk. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
I am a sociopath. I know this because I diagnosed myself.I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from a very prestigious university.I am charming, attractive, and you probably want to sleep with me.I take what I want, when I want, and I enjoy picking the most tragic of all my patients to experiment with.I have no remorse, I am unrelenting in my pursuit of tragedy, and I am about to meet my match. Her name is not important, I am only allowed to call her Mistress. She is a femme fatale, a patient, and now an obsession. She will destroy me, I will do anything to get inside of her.I can already feel her inside of me.**Trigger warning. This novel contains situations of perversity and dubious consent. It is not a love story, but more of a journey through a few short days in the life of a madman. What you see is not always what you get, reality is altered through his eyes and sometimes there is no happily ever after. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
