In the future, people are born knowing how long they'll live, and through a government sanctioned genetics company called LifeChoice they can volunteer to have their lifespans shortened slightly in exchange for anything they might want or not be able to afford--cars, houses, college educations, world travel. The sky's the limit. Remy McCune is a struggling construction worker who after losing his job decides to give LifeChoice a chance so his daughter can have the college education he missed out on. But all is not what it seems at LifeChoice, and Remy's fateful decision leads his family into a web of intrigue and murder that may just tear them and the social order of the country apart.
