I'm not completely sure how to rate this one. I enjoyed it, I really did. But at the same time it made me uncomfortable as well. I think it just about hit my limits to be honest. I love BDSM. Had you asked me a few years ago what I thought of it, I would have looked at you strangely and asked "what kind of woman do you think I am?" Well, obviously there was a massive kinky streak buried deep down that just needed the right kind of stimulation to be set free.

I love the interplay of dominance/submission. Reading about the pleasure they derive from the pain/bondage/restraints. The denial of pleasure, movement and even speech. What I have discovered is that what I don't like is humiliation. And there were two instances in this book that hit outside my comfort zone. That is why I'm struggling to rate this.

Aside from those scenes, this was a damn hot and sexy book. The building relationship between the MC's is interesting and not forced at all. And the contrast between them made for some very interesting times. It's just a pity that, the humiliation aspect threw me out of the joy I was feeling up to that point. And it never fully returned to the 5 star read it had been for the rest of the story. ( )

I really enjoyed my first read of this author. Thought the story was well paced and had lots going on. I look forward to reading book 2. ( )
