Summary: This story is about a little boy who can't sleep so he starts talking to the moon. The moon doesn't quite talk back, but the boy imagines that the moon is his friend and that it's responding. He asks it many imaginitive questions before eventually falling asleep. Critique of Genre: I think this book is Fantasy because it very strongly hints that the moon is talking back to the little boy. It seems like they are having a conversation, which obviously couldn't happen in real life because the moon does not talk. Age: Intermediate Great little bedtime story for young children and their parents. I love all the questions brought up by the boy and I think this would be a great book when exploring astronomy with young kids. Great for discussions like..."what do you wanna ask the moon..." could be used as a entry into more scientific questions..."what are you made of moon?". nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

I enjoyed this light read because it brings you to remember the way children see and communicate with their stuff. A childs imagination is so deep and rich. This book reminds one that even the smallest of things have a purpose and meaning.
This activity would be good for a pre-k class. I would have the children share in circle time three of their favorite toys. When they share about their toys they would be asked why they like that particular toy so much.
the second activity i would do woth them is have the students draw a picture of everything that the little child said goodnight too in the book. this will help stregthen their memory skills.
