Fiction. Literature. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:From the New York Times bestselling author of A Dog Named Christmas!
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance meets Life of Pi in this quirky
spiritual journey across the wild highways and byways of America.

Free spirit Angel Two Sparrow—artist and musician extraordinaire—is having trouble making ends meet.  On the verge of desperation, she inherits her crazy Aunt Lilly’s bookmobile and half-wolf named No Barks, and dreams up yet another life plan. Painting her business card on the side of the van, Angel and her trusty companion set off on a pilgrimage across America hoping to jump-start her new profession: Native American Spiritual Consultant.
Traveling in the other direction, Ted Day and his trusty Irish Terrier-mix Argo are on a much needed vacation (and in need of spiritual nourishment). When he leaves Kansas, Ted can’t image how far from his sleepy law office that old silver and black Winnebago 32RQ Chieftain will take him.
Two lives (four if you count the canines) collide (literally). Once the dust settles, Ted and Angel find themselves enamored.  Sensing that something bigger and more profound has been set in motion, the couple embarks on a wild road trip, detouring into some rarely traveled corridors of the human soul. Very soon, it becomes clear that nothing will ever be the same for these travelers, their dogs, and, heck, the world at large, too.
“Coming from the author of books such as A Dog Named Christmas and Christmas with Tucker,” Kincaid writes, “This new novel might at first blush sound like a departure for me. And yet, Angel and Ted’s journey throughout the Southwest reveals the themes at the heart of all my work: the ultimate questions of life and love, of companionship and overcoming the odds.”.

Tantric Coconuts is a book about a native woman leading a lawyer on a spiritual journey. The book discusses several religions in an elementary way. It is also a cutesy love story. Some people will love it and others will hate it. I thought it was ok. I enjoyed some of it but found other parts boring. Probably 2 1/2 stars. ( )

After the death of his grandfather, Ted Day takes his dog Argo, leaves Kansas to go on a much needed vacation. Meanwhile, Angel Two Sparrow, who has inherited her Aunt’s bookmobile, travels with her wolf in her newly created vocation as a spiritual consultant. And then they meet through an automobile accident. Together they go on a journey not only physically but spiritually.

Some may say that this is a religious story, but it is a story of self-actualization. Not only does Ted want answers that Angel may or may not be able to provide, they both and the reader learns how to find and help themselves. It was a cute story and helpful without being preachy. I found it fun and thought provoking.. ( )

Odd and very different than his previous books. Like a Spirituality 101 class. I admit to skimming through alot of the spiritual mumbo jumbo as the book wore on and started reading again whenever Aunt Lilly's case was mentioned. This started out with such promise then just got to be too much like sitting in a very boring college class with the teacher from Ferris Bueller till my eyes glazed over.

I thought this book would be great from the description, I have loved Greg Kincaids other books but this one fell very flat for me.

I received this book as part of Library Things early readers. I am a person who is interested in the spiritual life and the connection of all faiths so I found this book enjoyable. Taking all the spiritual steps and putting it into a story made it less boring to absorb. I felt it made the process more real as you see Ted, a workaholic spiritually dead person become aware of this aspect of himself that he denied for so long come alive. It is definitely not a book for everyone and not realistic that it would all come so easy and fast but the points are made and the story is fun. ( )

Strange little book. I enjoyed reading about alternative states of being and existence, but it was a little too esoteric for me. Still, interesting and worth reading as a different point of view. ( )

A parable for those who prefer spiritual quests to be lightened by whimsy.
