Hand and Theo are brothers who share everything, including a love of baseball and a patriotic sense of duty. When America enters WW2, the brothers are on opposite sides of the glove fighting the same war. Hank, an Airdale in the Navy, is on an aircraft carrier. Most of the plot is built around him and filled in with letters from Theo, an Army man, and his sister, Susan.
The plot keeps you interested and reading until the end of the book and the family interactions show the love and emotional caring from the. This is an excellent book to buy for any young person, and for that matter, anyone interested in war stores. What a fantastic graduate gift this would be to someone this year. I heartily recommend this book for all ages. (
