Firstly, I liked that it was written in both second, and third person point of view. The book is written in mainly third person, but there were times when the author, speaking as the main character Scaredy Boo, would speak to the audience. For example the tag line in the book that is repeated is "I'm little Scaredy Boo monster. Wouldn't you be scared, too?" Another reason I enjoyed this book was the way it was written. I am not talking about the writing quality, but the way the words were printed on the page. The writing became part of the illustration by changing size and bolding certain words. For example, the word big was written larger and bolder than any other word in the paragraph. Finally, the last reason that this book was entertaining was the way it was written in regards to writing style. There was a poetic quality with rhyming words and repeated phrases, and I believe that predictability would help students learning to read anticipate what word is coming next. The author rhymed words such as Boo and you, house and mouse, ears and fears, etc. I also liked how the author flowed through the story. The first few pages were dedicated to naming things that Boo was afraid of, and the second half of the book was Boo learning that those things were not so scary with his new friend by his side. The big idea, or message, of this book is that life is much more fun when you do not let your fears hinder you. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
