Betty Neels Collection - Book 1 Told from point of view of Adelaide and one cannot blame her for her behaviour. It is hard to put one's self in the male position. Frustrating as his behaviour was...at the end I considered that if he fell in love with her at first sight, he might have self protective instincts and her waffling behaviour might have confused him and made him hold back for a better signal. Sister Peters in Amsterdam by Betty Neels; (3 1/2*) This is a well written bit of women's fiction. Sister Peters, of a London Hospital, travels to Amsterdam on an exchange program and spends a pleasant & rather uneventful year working there. She makes some friends, has a flirtation or two & falls in love with the right guy eventually. I loved the back burner story lines and found those characters interesting for the most part. Although Neels was definitely a formulaic writer, I am happy to be moving along with her works, which I have had for ages. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Sister Adelaide Peters was surprised, but also very proud and excited, to have been chosen to represent her hospital in a new exchange scheme. It meant she'd be spending a year in Holland. Adelaide was determined to do her best, and she more than succeeded! She adored Holland, liked her colleagues and even mastered some of the language. She also unexpectedly, and disastrously, fell in love with her new boss. But Professor Coenraad van Essen was clearly out of her league. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
