"The author of this fictional diary began writing for a class assignment, but soon it became much more to him. As the star player of his high school football team, he faces a lot of pressure and expectation. Not to mention the secret that he's harboring inside. The secret that could change everything. And as David quickly learns, nothing stays secret forever. His innermost thoughts and feelings are chronicled in the diary he left behind."--Amazon.com.… (altro)

I purchased this book from Amazon to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The Book of David by Anonymous (The Anonymous Diaries). David is a church going quarterback on his high school football team with a girlfriend who is a cheerleader. The guy he thought was his best friend turns out to be a jerk and David's biggest secret is made public life begins to unravel leading to other secrets and feelings become complicated. Okay, one problem I have with this is it's too modern. These books should be timeless. That's why I Iiked "Go Ask Alice" and "Jay's Journal" so much. By talking about Miley Cyrus and Spotify it's dating the book and not in a good way. I thought these books were supposed to relate to teens from any generation. A reader 15 years from now wont relate to the pop culture references in this book.

Anyways, I super hate Tyler, like so much. I hate that he represents so many real people. I hate the main characters father too. They are horrible people. The make my stomach upset.

This story isn't bad. This one is much better then the last couple in this series I have read. But it makes me angry how realistic some of the characters are to real people. How truthful it all is.

I was rooting for him the whole time. I just wanted him to be happy. gah! Teenagers suck, I hate them all.

It would appear David has it all. Star on the football field alongside his best friend Tyler, dating a cheerleader and deciding which athletic scholarship to accept from the dozens being offered. Except David is secretly gay and Tyler hates gays. David's girlfriend introduces him to their new classmate, Jon, at David's 18th birthday keg party. From there the two boys experiment with their sexual awakening. Tyler is jealous of this new friendship and is determined to destroy it in the most publicly humiliating way possible. As a result, David and Jon become the targets of extreme bullying. The book is written in the format of a class project personal diary. David's innermost thoughts and feelings are all dangerously written on these pages. Note: The sex scenes are pretty explicit. Teenage drinking is also portrayed. The novel includes 3 internet resources for gay, lesbian and straight youth ages 13-24. Trained counselors can answer questions free & confidentially. ( )
