The Mortal instruments series is a great book for children and teens between the ages of 14 to 17. If you are interested I would suggest it past those ages as well. i started reading the Mortal Instrument series at 24 and I have been enthralled since. The relationship between Clary, Simon and Jace has had ups and downs, love lost, heartbreak, and love found. With so many twists, turns, and secrets, the Mortal Instruments keeps you on the tip of your toes to realize what happens next. My favorite character is Magnus Bane, who is an old wizard who looks to be in his twenty's and his relationship with a certain Shadow Hunter. I absolutely love this book series. At first i thought it was just going to be another random book about magical things. But it has so many twists and turns that make it so interesting. My emotions were on a roller coaster ride the entire time. I am looking forward to reading the last book that is coming out. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Will start City of Ashes today, April 17th, 2013.
Sorry, bad week, no updates.
Finished City of Ashes April 22nd (not sure), City of Glass April 24th (probably) 2013. Not too sure about the dates, but it looks right.
Just finished Citty of Fallen Angels today, April 28th, 2013.
The first 3 should be read together as a trilogy, with a great end, giving closure to the main story.
While the story is without an intermission, it takes a breather and a new turn, giving my favorite person in the book, Simon, more space.
Great. But the relationship and the developments of the Clary-Jace-relationship is a too much, Clary is still likeable, but I could do without Jace and his self-doubts. His constant inner whining and monologue grates my nerves.
For new readers I strongly suggest to take a break and read something different after finishing the first 3 books before reading on.
The fourth book ends on a cliffhanger, this urging me to read on.
City of Lost Souls is currently the last available book in the series, forcing me to take a break after that. Though I have already bought the "Infernal Devices"-prequel-trilogy as an ebook.
No real surprise with the ending of the fifth book "City of Lost Souls", sorry. More people (esp. main characters) should have died.
As it is, I am glad, that the next book is not published yet.
Some interesting developments, but I while Clary makes a difficult decision, I could not care less about them now.
It is still a highly recommended series, but without having read the end it is a gamble, wether it will be 5 or 4 stars altogether.
For now, I give 5 stars but may change it after the coming book #06 in 2014.
Read it yourself and make up your own mind!
