The major thing that held it back from more stars was I felt like the characterization was lacking. I really didn't get a grasp of who the hero was other than a sort of cardboard ideal of a girl's dream hero. He had no real motivations of his own. The insta love bothered me a bit here. Mostly because the author didn't really set the scene. When the hero first spoke to the heroine it was out of nowhere. The scene where they lock eyes across the strip bar and feel that sizzle was totally missing. I'm not buying insta love if you don't show me that. Throughout the book the author switched back and forth between first person present and first person past. That was totally unnecessary. Well anyway, an okay read but I'm not sure I'll go on with the series. This is a start to a great series. Four brothers who all experience the 'boom' when they meet the woman for them. None of them really believe in it and anyway they are having fun sleeping with half the country. I DO NOT like man-whore books and all the brothers are infamous but I have to say Asher is made to work for it. November comes to live with her dad as she had been living with her mother (who really doesn't deserve that description). People don't know November's dad has a daughter so this leads to a hilarious misunderstanding when Asher first meets he. November is a little dramatic and OTT for me but each to their own, she is very much in need of a good loving man and despite Asher's past and the fact that he has a lot to learn about how to treat a woman he tries his hardest to be just that. There are some touching scenes with her dog 'Beast'. We are introduced to the other members of the family including the other three brothers who each go on to have their own books. I enjoyed this book and I can't believe I waited so long to read it. I struggled with how much of a caveman Asher was. I found that frequently I was totally turned off by some of the things he said and did. It was beyond just being Alpha. He was telling her how she was going to live and it rubbed me the wrong way sometimes. It didn't ruin the book, but made it tougher for me to really warm up to Asher. POV: Mostly November with an occasional snippet from Asher Tears: No Trope: Alpha Male Triggers: None Cliffhanger: No nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

After leaving the big apple and her bad memories for Tennessee, November starts working for her dad at his strip club doing the books. The one time she's allowed there during club hours she runs into Asher Mayson. He's perfect until he opens his mouth and makes assumptions. November wants nothing to do with him - but too bad for her - fate has other plans. Asher Mayson has never had a problem getting a woman - that is, not until November. Now all he can think about is making her his and keeping her safe. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

Also, the scenes from Asher's perspective? Totally unnecessary. A perfect example of being told and not shown.
I was fine with the story, at least in the beginning, but as the mistakes piled up I found myself less and less willing to be generous. ( )
