"If war is hard – and it is, forever and always – then after war is just as hard, in a different way." 2.5 stars Despite the rating, this is an absolute must if you've read the other books and novellas. I don't know who would come this far and be able to resist the last one anyways, but just in case you have given up - Don't! I picked this up immediately after turning the last page of Monsters of Men. Partly wished that I hadn't. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I read it, but I really think you need to take a small period for grieving after Monsters. To process everything. I was so hung up on wanting to know what happened to Todd and Viola that I couldn't really give a crap about the entire premise of this story. That and a cast of characters I really didn't care for left me wanting a different story than the one I was being told. So yes, I did find this bit of lore from New World intriguing. I did enjoy, of course, finding out the final ending to Todd and Viola's story. Other than that... I regret to say that I didn't enjoy reading this one. I would have preferred this piece being omitted entirely for Monsters of Men to have a more satisfying ending. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
