Attualmente non vi sono conversazioni su questo libro. this was great I loved how they both tried to refuse each other, but ended up getting further into each other's hearts. Hot erotic scenes, actions scenes could've been a little better but I could handle it. ( ) Enslave Me Sweetly 4 Stars Eden Black, an alien assassin renowned for never missing a target, discovers to her chagrin that there is always a first time. Forced to work with a human partner, Lucius Adaire, Eden is determined to put a stop to the trafficking ring selling humans as slaves to otherworlders. However, as Eden and Lucius go undercover and their attraction skyrockets, their mission takes a turn for the worse and they will have to utilize all of their skills and abilities to succeed before it is too late… Series note: Although this is book #2 in the Alien Huntress series, it can be read as a standalone as the plot and characters are unconnected to the first book. Eden and Lucius are an engaging couple with explosive chemistry. Nevertheless, the book suffers from the 1st person POV as readers are inundated with Eden’s insecurities, which get old after a while, and Lucius’s thoughts and emotions are missing. Moreover, he comes across as more of a beta hero that I would like. The world that Showalter has created is very compelling with the various races and their reasons for being on Earth. The human trafficking plot is a unique variant of a familiar theme and there are some interesting twists and turns, as well as a surprise revelation at the end. The secondary characters are also intriguing, especially Devyn who is obviously a bad boy in need of redemption (one of my favorite hero types) and I eagerly await learning more about him when his book comes along. In sum, although Enslave Me Sweetly did not make as much of an impact as book #1, the story is action packed and entertaining, and the romance is sweet and spicy. The audiobook is superbly read by Justine Eyre and I already have book #3 lined up. Enslave Me Sweetly is narrated by Justine Eyre. Justine also narrated, Awaken Me Darkly, the first book in the Alien Huntress series. She has a raspy-just-woke-up-I-have-a-scratchy-throat type of voice. She does a decent job with the reading. I'm not in love with her voice and at times I find it slightly annoying, but overall I think she does a good job. My thoughts on the story: Eden Black is the alien huntress in this book. She's also an alien herself. Eden is a Raka, which is an extremely beautiful alien with skin and hair like gold. Her race his highly coveted. In Enslave Me Sweetly, Eden is working undercover to bust a human slave trade operation. She is paired with Lucius Adaire, a ball-busting human. They have a love-hate relationship from the get-go. Eden and Lucius definitely have chemistry. They like each other from their first meet-up, but to cover up their attraction they sort of take the kindergarten mentality of 'I like you, so I'm going to be mean to you.' So they banter and flirt until they can't deny their attraction any more. Being with Lucius helps Eden uncover some of her alien abilities that she doesn't even know about. The story line is good. Eden goes undercover and plays helpless. And, of course, whatever can go wrong, does go wrong. Which makes the story a little predictable, but still enjoyable. To me this Enslave Me Sweetly is better than the first book, Awaken Me Darkly. I felt like the story line was tighter in this book. Gena Showalter has a way of writing steamy relationships with an exciting story line that makes all her books a joy to read. Although I'm enjoying this series, Lords of the Underworld is still my favorite. Read more at http://www.2readornot2read.com/2014/01/audio-book-review-enslave-me-sweetly-by.h... Eden Black is a Rakan, one of the last of her kind, working as an assassin for her adopted father's private security company. They are trying to shut down a ring of slave traders, and Eden has to act as bait. She doesn't want a partner in this endeavor, but her father insists Lucius help her out. The two chase the bad guys and fall in love. Eden is badass and Lucius is luscious. The plotting is suspenseful and secondary characters are well-drawn. This is not a hastily thrown together submission to a hot drama. The series appears to intend to explore several other types of aliens and otherworldly creatures as it progresses, and Showalter does it in a very intriguing way. I will definitely continue reading her books. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
