Fascinating, fun facts about all sorts of animals coupled with wonderfully whimsical illustrations. ( ) This book came highly recommended. I was initially skeptical, but gosh if those animal facts just aren't fascinating. I knew people sometimes poured alcohol on scorpions in movies, but didn't know the end result (this book tells you). Wondering how high bison can jump? They can jump pretty high. I found something new on almost every page. The illustrations initially put me off; they seem kind of "messy" and not well thought out, but... they grow on you. The hippo one, in particular, might be my favorite (look for the other animal cameo on top of his head). Recommended. I can't imagine a kid not liking this book. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
If a camel gets angry, he will vomit green gastric juice all over you. A sloth moves so slowly that green algae grows in his fur. Even a blind chameleon takes on the colour of its surroundings. Bologna Ragazzi Award - winner Marije Tolman , creator of The Tree House and The Island, illustrates in her distinctive style the curious, funny, bizarre, unbelievable, disgusting and weird facts about all kinds of different animals. The animal facts are straightforward nonfiction, while Marije Tolma n's illustrations are pure fantasy, creating a combination that is sure to engage young readers. After reading and looking at Jumping P enguins, a visit to the zoo will never be the same again . A flamingo can only eat with its head upside down. A penguin is able to jump 1.8 meter high. Even a blind chameleon takes on the colour of its surroundings. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
