Alfred Duggan is a favorite author to me. In this book he tells the story of a king of the middle eastern edge of the roman empire who was crafty enough to hold out against Rome's greatest general, and also his own kin--to die old. Very unusual for a king of this time and area. Great book with a lot of information about the roman army and the way of fighting. ( )
