There is a lot of funny material in this easy to read book. I don't think there is much depth to it, but it has its funny moments. Set in late '80s LA sort of dates it, too. A book with a theme of celebrity culture had too many dead celebrities in it. ( ) One of the funniest books I have ever read. The plot is an insider's tale about producing a television situation comedy with a prima donna star. It is narrated in the first person by a producer on a two-man team. The author was a producer of "Maud," but this book is definitely not a roman a clef. An even better option is to listen to the unabridged audio book as read by George Guidall, the best audio book reader of all time.
"Artistic Differences" is sometimes savage and always funny (funnier than I can tell you, since most of its stories are unprintable in a family newspaper), yet even as you howl over the author's sendup of the Machiavellis and the nut cases in his chosen field, you recognize the ring of truth. Things wind down and thin out a bit toward the end, but that's all right too; you're so tired from laughing, you're grateful for a rest.
Hollywood insider Charlie Hauck spoofs Burbank in this raucous comedy about two producer/writers looking to score a syndicated television series. When their leading lady takes charge, look for the action and the laughs to run in overdrive. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
