An excellent book with photographs of ancient art works and historical locations used to bring history to life. The text is informative while not being overwhelming and presents a vivid depiction of history. This book covers ancient Egypt, Greece, and the Mayan cultures.

I found this book to be an excellent example of what many natural history books for children are doing today. It uses a magazine type format in that pages are filled with images and key, well executed blocks of text that are informative while not being too obtrusive or overwhelming. The arrangement of images and information is done in a way that makes history interesting and fun to look at. Great for kids and adult, and being an ancient Greece-o-file I really enjoyed it as well.
