Very readable look at the Med as a whole from pre-WW2 to the end. Provides good insights into the personalities and national identities of the various players. Well written and eminently readable. In an area fraught with "what if's?" the author gives solid data and plausible reasons for and against alternative outcomes/decisions. ( )
