The righting of an ancient wrong. A future foretold. The bands tattooed around her wrists are laced with a dragon's green and more - destiny preordained . . . Mind Thief. Gift Thief. Feared for an ability to seize another's thoughts and powers with a touch. San Francisco tattoo artist Etaín is such an elf - and the time has come for her to learn how to use her talents. Close to the transformation and about to discover her place in a supernatural world, Etaín once thought intimacy and permanence were impossible. Now she's bound to Cathal, the son of an Irish mobster. And she's also claimed by Eamon, an Elven lord with powerful gifts of his own. Eamon is determined to keep her safe - from others as well as herself. But a quest for justice is more than it seems, leaving their future to hinge on choice and magic. On promises made and dangerous bargains. Praise for the novels of Jory Strong 'Spicy, sassy, sexy, and off-the-charts sensual.' Romantic Crush Junkies Reviews'Compelling . . . mesmerising . . . A world of erotic and magic.' Reader to Reader'The very definition of Supernaturally Sexy . . . It will leave you begging for more . . . and more . . . and more.' Fresh Fiction… (altro)

Continuing tale with this trio, who is still working to find a way to make it all work out. Several layers if you can get past all the sex. While the scenes were well done it was overwhelming.

Quick & Dirty: Where is book 3? Want it ASAP!

Opening Sentence: Etaín stood naked in the shower, hot water and the heat of the men on either side of her eradicating most of the chill that lingered following her rescue from the Harlequin Rapist.

The Review:

This book is a true sequel and you will need to read Inked Magic to be able to enjoy this story. Find our review here. The story directly follows the conclusion of Inked Magic where Etaín was saved from the Harlequin Rapist.

It is not often that I get a review book that is a second in a series and in preparation, I search out and read the first book. In this case, I did and I’m supremely glad I took the time because I would have really struggled to understand the complexity and uniqueness that is the story and characters.

Etaín is an amazing tattoo artist that has discovered she is a changeling and will soon be a full elf plus she is a gifted and cursed because as her hands touch people she sees and steals their memories. Her gift has become unstable during the process of her change and that is where her men come in, Lord Eamon and Cathal Dunne.

With the two men in her lives comes complications as you would anticipate, however the tension and interplay between these two heroes was not only believable but enjoyable. Lord Eamon is her link to the Elf portion of herself. His elemental gifts include fire and water which he uses to great effect. Lord Eamon also comes with responsibilities for being the Lord of the territory because of his need to protect his people that could include the possibility of killing Etaín if she becomes unstable.

Cathal Dunne is a different problem due to his family connections to the Irish mob. Even with Cathal’s lack of involvement with his families business comes self protection and paranoia when it comes to this new and unusual relationship between Etaín, Lord Eamon and himself.

The other entity in this relationship is Etaín’s Dragon. She sees this in her dreams. The Dragon is a source of mystery and magic and adds to the mystery of Etaín’s past and changing to a full Elf. I’m still unsure exactly what relationship the Dragon has to Etaín even after finishing this book.

This story is one of my favorites that I have read in the last couple of months. The reason is because of the complexity of not only the interplay between our three main characters but the other secondary characters. I have grown to adore not only Sean, Cathal’s PI contact; but Quinn and Derrick and Etaín’s family. The level of character development has really made them become more than just secondary characters. As a reader, I was able to invest emotions in them all and really feel when they were hurt or were put in harms way through events or sometimes Etaín, herself.

Finally, if you have read Inked Magic then you really should pick this up. If you haven’t read Inked Magic then do it ASAP because the story only gets better with Inked Destiny. My only reservation is that I have no idea when we will get book 3 and you will want book 3. Believe me!

Notable Scene:

Eamon shrugged. “Some battles are best avoided. I mean to keep Etaín safe and one of the things I will protect her from is the harm that comes of using her gift at your behest. You will not be allowed access to her if the purpose of your visit is to ask her to touch crime victims and relive the horror of their memories. In fact, you will be escorted out of my home immediately without seeing her if you are unable or unwilling to swear an oath you did not come here with such a request.”

The captain leaned forward, enough menace and aggression in the gesture to have Liam straightening out of his laconic pose. “If my daughter refuses to use her unique abilities, and I hear it directly from her, I’ll accept Etaín’s wishes. I don’t know who you are. Until today, I’d never heard of you or seen you in all the times I’ve been to Aesirs. I don’t know what your connection to the Dunnes is, but be assured I’ll be looking now that you’ve come onto my radar screen. I demand to see my daughter. Get her in here or I’ll–”

“Dad, let’s calm down here. Please. I need to get my paperwork wrapped up and you wanted to make sure Etaín was really okay. Eamon knows this meeting with Etaín has to happen. I let her leave the crime scene without giving a statement. I let them all leave. Let’s shelve this discussion for now. All Eamon has asked is that we promise we’re not here to ask for her help on another case. I know I’m not. Are you?”

FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of Inked Destiny. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review. ( )

I won a copy of this book as part of the free reads program on goodreads.com. This book picks up right where Inked Magic left off. So you really need to read it first so that you know what is going on with the story. Luckly I was able to get a secondhand copy of Inked Magic at my local secondhand book store and didn't have to interlibaray borrow it as that can take a long time some times to come in.

I wouldn't recomend this book for anyone under 18 or for those who are easily offended as it as erotic scenes but is not smutty ( )
