This is the kind of book that I want to hand to those boys who are constantly asking me for war books. This story shows the other side of the glamour and adventure of war that these boys are seeking: it is the home front, and in particular, the home of a 12 year-old-boy missing his father immensely, who's serving yet another tour in Afghanistan. Over the months and months of his father's deployments, the two write letter to each other, back and forth. They are a constant reminder of the love of a father and son, and of their unending ties to one another.
