Yeah I hated this book.

If you have any issues with eating and body insecurities - DO NOT READ. I am fairly healthy with my attitude to all this sort of stuff and I found it hard.

This is probably one of those really important reads and people should know more about the issue - but I think there's a way to tackle this sort of thing as well. This book was not only full of triggers but it was also depressing as hell. She DIES! Like all that and she bloody DIES. It's very abrupt. I just thought it would be more about recovery and that. You know, something hopeful and inspiring. I know eating disorders can result in death but it was written in a very confronting manner. On the other hand there's enough triggers in this book that I think most people will find it hard to avoid dangerous thought patterns and frankly will avoid the fact that eating disorders can kill. Anyone with an eating disorder will relapse. I don't have an eating disorder and I found myself considering my eating habits.

A friend has an eating disorder and I read this book with the hope to gain more insight into how I could help. The first step would be to never let her see this book. ( )

I purchased this book from Amazon to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Letting Ana Go by Anonymous (an Anonymous Diaries Book). Ana was an athlete just figuring outhow to be a sophomore when school comes to an end and she's heading into summer before her junior year. After a week in the summer with her ballerina friend she learns to count calories to shed a few pounds and land a great guy. Only in the turmoil of her parents divorce she becomes obsessed with shedding more pounds and when school starts and new clothes are bought and homecoming dance in her sights she buys a size 2 dress determining to be small enough to get in it. Her diary leads you through her thoughts of how she was sent into counting calories, dropping weight, and controlling her life by choosing what she wants to refuse to eat. She made me kind of angry. Like a lot. How she was disgusted by others, and the way the treated her mom. gah.
It was good though. I love these books.
I'm happy with the ending. All off these books need to end that way. It makes it more realistic. ( )

This book was amazing and so hard to read. It really cut to the core and showed how twisted a person's mind gets when suffering from anorexia. Such a powerful book. ( )
