I've read many books by Diane Chamberlain and have enjoyed them. This offering for me is certainly not one of her best.

The story follows four main characters. Jeff the rainmaker and his past that he doesn't want people to know about. Carmen a failing reporter who now has the story of a lifetime. Mia who has her own issues that she needs to deal with and Chris the town mayor.

For me the story had a few things that did hold my interest but a lot of the story for me just dragged on. I was hoping for a twist to give the story something worth saving but that didn't happen. The story seemed to be more character driven and was about each one and what they each had to deal with.

I really didn't enjoy much of this book and feel disappointed as I normally enjoy books by the author. Way to long for what it was. ( )

Not my favorite offering from Ms Chamberlin. The story was a bit unbelievable. The four main characters were very well written...all flawed, but sympathetic. Relationships were very well done. Would have liked another couple chapters at the end to complete the story. ( )
