This book plays with perspective with simple building blocks: a mouse, a cat, a dog, some string, some leaves, and few colors (black, white, gray, and orange).

Is it big or is it little? It is a great book to show opposites such as deep or shallow, long or short, and heavy or light. The pictures show different perspectives like a different point of veiw. one view is from the mouse and the other is from the cat chasing him. the lines lead you to turn the page trying to figure out what would be the outcome of the two. The mouse has yarn and he ask the question is this big or small, deep or shallow so on and so forth as the cat chases him. Then a dog chases the cat.

The kids, preschoolers, like this book better than I do. The pictures are okay, and the text very simple, but a little confusing on some pages. children keep choosing it though, they like to read it themselves, and we talk about what the words might mean, usually in terms of describing the differing points of view of the cat and the mouse. I would never have purchased this book, but we are glad to have it ( )
