When the heroine takes to the road to photograph ghost towns, she has no idea that she’ll find herself in an alternate secret world where vampires rule and where the imprisoned humans are ‘kept’ by them. When the heroine finds herself in said world, she’s told that not only she can’t leave but she’s been chosen as the possession of the lead vampire. But there are rules to this new world. She gets her own house, plenty of food and she wants for nothing but she’s not the go out at night else she be free game for a bloodletting and must supply said blood to the leader whenever he wishes. Though this book is by far my favorite, it’s pretty amazing considering it’s written by the queen of the less than stellar vampire novels. This book had a different mood to it and that’s possibly the reason for its greater quality. I liked how dark it was. It’s a pretty disturbing concept and may be uncomfortable for those who not used to the paranormal romance genre but it’s pretty typical for the heroine to be the possession of the hero. I’m surprised by this book; a pleasant surprise. ( ) Well, this was my first experience with this author and I'm not sure if I'll be looking for her other books to add to my ginormous TBR pile. It's not that I didn't like the story, it just kinda reminded me of cheesy horror movies with stale popcorn. I tried to get into it, I just couldn't seem to get past some of the cliched characterizations and plot points. The smexy scenes were very watered down and incredibly tame (for me, anyway) which is certainly not a bad thing if you are a younger reader and maybe that is just it. Maybe I'm just not the demographic this book was aiming for. Finally, the ending...it was just so "hurry up and wrap everything up with a giant bow because the end of the book is coming fast!!!". Like I said, maybe this one was not my cuppa tea but I'm sure younger readers would enjoy this vampy romance. FTC Advisory: I won a copy of this book through the GoodReads First Reads program. No compensation for my review was given. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Photographing ghost towns across the American West, Kadie Andrews takes a wrong turn and ends up in Morgan Creek--a spot that isn't on the map. It's a quaint little place, but there's something off about its complacent residents. And when twilight falls, it takes on a truly sinister air. . . Unable to run, or to find any way out, Kadie finds herself a prisoner, hunted for her blood. Still more disturbing, her spirit and beauty have captured the attention of master vampire Rylan Saintcrow. When he looks into her eyes, she can see his hunger. When he takes her in his arms, she can feel his power. When he presses his lips against hers, she can taste his need. Saintcrow may be the most compelling creature she's ever imagined, but Kadie knows in her heart that he is also a man. A man who needs a woman. To want him, desire him, crave him. To be his willing prisoner--for all eternity. . . "A classic vampire tale of sensual, spine-tingling suspense." --Christine Feehan on Desire After Dark "A master of her craft." --Maggie Shayne "Ashley is a master storyteller." --Romantic Times Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
