It reminded me of my dad and many others out there. Most of the time, mothers seem to be more affectionate than fathers, at least they're better at expressing their feelings. However, dads do many things that say i love you to their children like making pancakes and singing songs. Definitely plan on adding it to my classroom library and personal bookshelf for my baby on the way. My favorite time of the day when I was little was when my dad got home from work. We would play games, make a mess and jump around a whole bunch! I loved this story because it talked about all the ways a father can show how much he loves you through so many different ways other than just saying it. For example a father can say he loves you by making you crispy pancakes, having a tickle fight and stopping to give you a breath, singing you your favorite song, helping you ride a bike, carrying you up to bed, and answering all your questions. Each example was a different animal from a different part of the world. It begins with two bears and ends with the baby bear begin put to bed stating that a father can say he loves you simply by saying it the ordinary way. Overall this book shows the readers that everything that your father does for you, all the silly things, all the simple little things proves how much he loves his little one. I remember spending a bunch of times with my dad that now that I am looking back we did a lot of silly things together but he did them all because he loves me. I will definitely be keeping this book in my collection for my future family. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Evaluation/Argument: I thought that this was a very cute book!! I loved it and thought that it was great. I loved the way that the author chose to use animals as their characters. Most children love animals and love seeing the different animals that could be on each page. This book is very relatable for children too. Even as a college student I remember my dad doing some of these things with me as a kid. For example, the father is holding his son on his shoulders so that he can see the parade that is passing by on the street. This is a way that the author showed that the father loved his son. I can remember my dad doing this for me as well during special holidays in our town. Almost every example given I can relate to, which means most other children have experienced these things as well. This is just a very cute and loving book for children to read with their parents as they grow up.
The central message of this book is that a dad can show their children that he loves them in different ways. A dad does not just have to say he loves them to show them, but rather this can be seen through his actions everyday. Children should hear that their dad, and mom, love them frequently as well as realizing that their parents are telling them these things everyday in various ways. ( )
