Intriguing and gripping story.

Abandoned by her mother, Aubrey is on the run with her sister Bell. She is not Bell's legal guardian, so she must constantly be on guard and keep on the move to avoid detection by the law. When you are 21 with a 7 year old how do you do this? You lie. You lie about your age; you tell everyone you are married and you tell them Bell is your daughter. She has been doing this now for three years and is tired of running. With the support of her uncle and grandparents, she is struggling by...

... and then comes Sawyer. Instant mutual attraction, guarded feelings, and the need to continue to lie, wear her down when all she wants to do is be honest.

This gripping story touches the heart. Normally, Mimi Strong's stories have a lighthearted side as well as angst. This story probes deeper into the psyche of a young woman on the brink. The awesome responsibilities of parenthood for a teenager, and a chilling secret she keeps from everyone to protect the mother who abandoned her.

Wow couldn't put it down!
I was getting flustered with Aubrey and her holding Sawyer arm's length away when he clearly was a good guy. Aubrey's childhood was a mess to say the least but she is actually a bad ass when you see all she's been through. Throughout the book I was just hoping that she would totally let down her guard and let Sawyer in. Not sure how much Sawyer will take before he just gives up. Lots of Hot steamy juicy sex. Fabulous ending.
