Travel book that recounts the author's journeys through the United States, first as a child escaping war-devastated Hungary and en-route to Australia; and then 50 years later when he returns to New York as a man. It is a story about the difference between dreams and reality. Author is a writer and critic who for many years taught English literature at the University of Sydney. He has published a number of academic books and two memoirs, 'Inside Outside' and 'The Habsburg Cafe'.
