Headlines scream across the nation as a country in near panic pleads for the capture of the killers. With little progress, U.S. President Samuel Schroeder asks Jack McCall, a veteran of the CIA and Defense Intelligence, to head up a special multi-agency task force to find the killers. A frustrated and unhappy FBI designates, as its representative, Rachel Johnstone, an agent with whom Jack has had some personal history. The Third Coincidence unfolds amidst continued assassinations, accusations that the president is attempting to form his own secret police, and confirmation hearings for reluctant nominees to fill the vacant positions while the Supreme Court struggles to sustain a quorum. Will a terrorist group or a mad assassin succeed in destroying these revered intuitions? In the spirit of The Day of the Jackal and The Manchurian Candidate, this story is juxta-posed through the eyes of both the hunter and the hunted as the devious plot to change America hurdles forward.… (altro)

Fast paced novel of American terrorism. Interesting plot, and it moves along quickly. ( )

A Supreme Court Justice is found dead in his chambers. Because of his age, a heart attack is suspected but when a second Justice is found with his throat cut and a Federal Reserve Governor meets an untimely death in a c ar crash, the President wants an investigation and calls on his friend, Jack McCall who is a special Director awt the CIA. McCall creates a special taskforce with members from the CIA, FBI, and MPD and together they work to find who is threatening the elite members of the Supreme Court and Federal Reserve. Commander LW of the American Militia to Restore Representative Government sends his threats and demands for the non-elected elite to stand down or he will kill them all.

The nation is frightened, no one wants to be a nominee for the vacant position, putting their names on the hit list. With the assassination spree continuing, resignations occurring and no replacements, the Supreme Court cannot sustain a quorum. Will the nation fall into anarchy before the killer is found and stopped?

This book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, wondering if this ever happened in the real world, how we as a nation would react - would we demand immediate results or realize that someone that managed to accomplish something this devious would be difficult to track down and capture? It was well-written and seemed well-researched and the characters were well-developed. My only nit to pick was the change in viewpoint was sometimes too jumpy, but once I realized it had changed, there was no problem. This could have been related to the download format from Net Galley. But all in all, a great read.

Thanks to Net Galley and Oceanview Publishing for giving me the chance to read a great book. ( )

Jack McCall has a great love for his country as he has proved many times before and will prove one more time, as he accepts a special assignment form the President to find out who is killing the Supreme Court justices. Jack puts together a team of agents he trust, which includes Rachael Johnstone, a former love interest. This is a story of mystery, murder and investigations, it makes you think you are involved in a real special ops investigation. This author has done a superb job of making the characters life-like and the story almost real. Congratulations on a wonderful book Mr. Bishop!

This book was very well written with lots of detail. The complexities and history of each character is wonderful. You feel as if you almost know and understand the characters while reading this. I understand this is labeled as a Thriller. However, it mixes Thriller, Suspense, Mystery, and a love story together. It is truly an edge of your seat political thriller that takes place in our nations capitol about capturing a serial killer. Due to alot of the content I definitely would not recommend this for children, or a light read. ( )

ARC Giveaway & Review: I was delighted when the publisher sent me The Third Coincidence by David Bishop. I’ve had a long-standing interest in the workings of the U.S. Supreme Court, so I was looking forward to reading a thriller about the Justices if it was a good one. No problem – this one kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! And even better, the publisher sent me two advance readers’ hard copies to use in a giveaway – that’s right, two readers will win copies! Read the rest of my review and enter to win an ARC at http://popcornreads.com/?p=2872 ( )
