This book is about a young girl with a disability who pretty much takes in a view of the world on an outing with her parents. While on her outing she sees many individuals who are different but unique in their own ways. One of the really cool things about this book in particular is that it has the full alphabet in ASL on one page and the numbers 1-5 in braille on another page. I would recommend this book to first-third or fourth grade students. This age group would be the best fit because of the content of the book and the importance of inclusivity. Young April is excited about visiting Grammie, but she has a whole week before she can go. The week goes by quickly, however, as April encounters new and diverse people while she runs errands with her mother. A little girl who talks with her hands, a woman who reads with her fingers, a grown-up who draws pictures for a living, and so many others fascinate her. April wonders why and how these people are different from her and learns how they are also very much alike. This celebration of a world of difference is sure to make every reader appreciate the distinctive qualities in themselves and everyone around them. This book is about a little girl named april. While preparing for a visit to her grandmother, a young girl notices that, like the flowers in Grammie's garden, people who are different from one another also share similarities and it's okay to like them all the same. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
