I really am enjoying this series, despite some of the things that irritate me about the main character - which didn't happen in Unearthly...I liked her until Hallowed. And I guess it's not that I entirely dislike the protagonist, really, I just wish she'd grow up already and take stock of what really matters in life. I liked book 2.5. It is engaging, as are books one and two. I like the writing. And I really loved that in this installment, we get to learn more about Angela. I even liked that the narration switched between Clara and Angela each chapter. I'm not so sure that I trust Phen - how can you be an 'ambivalent' angel? And Clara...? I still am a little miffed with Clara, like I was after reading Hallowed, which I've already written about, so I won't do it again here. You're welcome. :) This obsession she has with Tucker is just plain annoying. All through this novel she's pining away after him, Tucker this and Tucker that, and oh, yeah, by the way...I'm so sad that my mom died and my dad is gone. And - here's the best part - my little brother is MISSING! But let me run off to Italy with my friend and spend my summer thinking about my ex. I wanted to yell at her, "Your brother is missing!! What are you doing in Italy? Why aren't you looking for him?! This is NOT normal! And it is UNACCEPTABLE!" I find it a very alarming trend in some - not all - some YA fiction that family is made to be the least important thing in life. So, maybe Clara has gone to Italy to get away from both Tucker and Christian and her grief over all her loss. If it wasn't for her brother being MIA, I wouldn't have a problem with that. But...Clara is still young, so I just chalked it up to major immaturity and read on. And, overall, I did like the novella. And Clara does try to look out for Angela, which redeems her a little for me. I enjoyed reading the little bits with Angela's Italian famly. And I like the introduction of the new character (Phen) to give Angela her own problems and storyline. And I absolutely loved the last line of the story! And I read the little teaser chapter of book 3 - Boundless - and I am really looking forward to that one coming out in January!! ( ) Radiant -- Can I say I always feel a little leery when we go from single-person book pov's to doubles or triples, but this one knocked it straight out of the park. I LOVED being in Angela's head. I loved how faulted and real she was, how messy and authentic her emotions for her mother, her love interest and the main character of the series were. I felt like I could identify with everything happening, and that the getting away was even sensible in the story. And there's so much I want to know. Especially with the last words the novella piece closes with. Boundless Preview -- I am not even sure I have words. There's a lot of wanting to just squeal and holding out for two more weeks for the rest of this. So. Soon. Guys. So. Soon. Well, I finally finished the book. it wasn't too bad but not great either. it's good to finally get to know Phen, the man who has Angela's heart. Had I not read Boundless first, I just might have liked Phen. Seeing that I have though, my original thoughts of him still stands. Still don't understand why Angela felt she needed to hide him though, maybe she already knew that he wasn't right..I don't know. I've already said too much so I'll hush now. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
