I was fortunate enough to visit the Glasgow School of Art before it burned down. Lovely and light-filled, with beautiful decorative flourishes. Mackintosh seems to have been speaking the same architectural language as Frank Lloyd Wright, although I don't think either of them knew about the other. His art and architecture are truly stunning, and this book does a remarkable job of showcasing them, as well as details about his life and career. ( )

A small, gift book illustrating Charles Rennie Mackintosh's work - Glasgow School of Art, architecture, and interior design. Unfortunately, Macintosh's popularity and reputation suffered a decline and he died nearly penniless. His work in many cases is lost but this book is able to illustrate some of his work and is a delight to the eye.
