This is fourth in the "Witch" series; it's much better than the last one, in my opinion, because it returns to a less straightforward "witchcraft" narrative. In this one, Lynn finds Mrs. Tuggle's glass eye and begins to think that it causes whoever carries it or is even around it for any length of time to act bizarrely and irrationally. Lynn has a great relationship with her father in this title. He sort of challenges her to think of things from a more scientific standpoint - to feel less intuitively and more rationally. I think the interesting thing about the narrative is that, while we ultimately become fairly convinced that the glass eye is having a profound effect on Lynn, it's never completely clear that the author intends us to believe it's really witchcraft rather than the psychological effects of believing in "witchcraft." I thought it was very cleverly done for a kid's book. And an entertaining read, to boot! ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
